Heiva I Honolulu,
Honolulu, Hawai`i.
Kiki Raina Tahiti Fete, Merced County
Fairgrounds, Merced, CA April 22-23, 2006. Booth
selection will have a selection of colors and sizes of
feathers for costuming.
The Merrie Monarch Hula
Festival, Hilo Hawai`i April 19-22, 2006. This
event is being held at the Edith Kanaka`ole Stadium in Hilo.
Hawai`i. The
main venue for the Official Merrie Monarch vendors is held in the Civic
Center in front or the stadium. Booth selection will
have a large assortment of feather leis, feather lei hatbands,
rare & exotic pelts and loose feathers for the lei hulu
makers.
May Day Festival,
Pleasanton County Fairgrounds, Pleasanton, CA. Date to
be announced.
The George Na`ope Kāne
Hula Festival,
Modesto Centre Plaza, Modesto, CA, August 11-13, 2006.
This is the first and only event that features only the kāne
in a hula festival or competition. This event will
feature the kāne in group and solo competition. Groups
in attendance will be from Hawai`i, California, Japan, Guam,
and possibly from Utah, Texas, Nevada, and Florida. This
event is presented by The Makanaaloha Group and sponsored by
Hawaiianfeathers.com. This is an indoor event and will
feature many unique vendors island style crafts, clothing,
jewelry, Ni`ihau shells, and more. The official event

www.kanehulafestival.com. Our first of this annual
event in 2005 was a big success and hopefully you will plan to
attend. We hope to see you there!
E Pili Kakou I Ho`okahi Lanui - Annual Hula
Retreat, Sacramento, CA, September 8-10, 2006.
This is the third time this event will be held in Northern Ca.
This is a very exciting event which will present the who's who
in Hula. The names of the Kumu Hula for the workshop
presentations are legendary. You can go the event
website at
www.epilikakou.org and read the layout. The event is
being held in the Double Tree hotel in Sacramento (check
website for location). The event is open all day Friday
and Saturday, then Sunday morning. The event will host
many craft vendors open to the public at no charge. The
registration for the workshops are available online. I
will have a booth displaying lei hulu, handmade hats,
a full line if authentic hula implements, ipu hula and ipu
hekes. This will be an awesome event so I hope to see
you there.
Ia `Oe E Ka La Hula Festival, Pleasanton
County Fairgrounds, Pleasanton, CA, November 3-5, 2006.
