The Reeve's Pheasant has many different shades of brown. Along with the white accents. it makes a beautiful Hawaiian feather lei. This pheasant is not endangered in it's natural habitat and does very well in the aviaries around the country.

On the other hand, look at the bold and shimmering color accents of the Siamese Fireback Pheasant. The colors jump out when the sun shines on this spectacular Hawaiian feather lei hatband. This hatband looks great on a traditional hand made lauhala hat. But try placing it on a black hat or a lauhala or woven hat with black mixed throughout the hat, that looks great! The Siamese Fireback pheasant is found in Indo-China north to , Viet Nam and east Thailand. They're natural habitat is from sea level to 2000 feet in elevation. They like very dense forestation, bamboo and evergreen. The pheasant's status in it's natural habitat is grim due to forest devastation and and is considered to be rare. In aviaries around the country, this pheasant is making a comeback.
