Shown here is a Palawan Peacock
Pheasant. The natural habitat of this species only found
on the small island of Palawan. You will find this
pheasant in damp primary forests of Palawan's coastal plains.
The altitude the pheasant keeps is not all that well known.
Although the small islands maximum elevation is only about
2000 m. There are no other pheasants on the island of
Palawan. The Palawan pheasant is considered a vulnerable
species and the actual population size on the island is
unknown. There is not much information available
of this species being raised in aviaries around the country
and there are no sanctuaries on the island of Palawan. A
beautiful pheasant.
