Shown here is the Vulturine Guinea
Fowl. Very little information is known about this
bird, but with the success of breading in aviaries around the
country, we are learning more. This bird is considered to be endangered and very rare.
This guinea fowl is from Kenya and looks like, in shape, a
common vulture. The black spotted feathers and the natural
pastel lavender colors makes a stunning feather lei. The
Vulturine Guinea Fowl should not be confused with the similar
pattern feather of the common guinea hen.
