This is a collection of various color combinations of lei
wili poepoe and some more exotic feathers used in the wili
poepoe. All of these feather leis are hand made by
me. I cut and trim all of the feathers I use and each
feather is hand tied onto a yarn base and finished with satin
ribbon. Any of the colors or color combinations you see
below can be made in quantities for groups and for halau
adornments. Quantity prices can be negotiated for orders
totaling more than five leis of the same color or combination.

feather lei is the traditional lei Ka`ahumanu made of all dyed goose feathers of illima.

This lei Ka`ahumanu can also be made in whichever length you

matching lei po`o, for your chapter of the Ka`ahumanu Society.

presentation are the "church window" feather. The
European Ringneck and the Chinese Ringneck are similar in
pattern and slightly different in color. The length of

The natural brick red color of the feather with the gray and
black circle on the tip of each feather is intriguing.

Shown here is a lei wili poepoe made with the natural
feathers of the Greenwing Teal duck. This is a very
small duck which would be compared in size to a large dove or
small pigeon. The feathers are of the lower belly of the
duck and the color and markings of the feather resemble the
pu`eo (owl). The length of this feather lei is 24" long
of feathers.

feathers of the female Mongolian Ringneck Pheasant. The
feather pattern of dark brown and with the markings make this
a very nice feather to work with for markings of a

Shown here is an India Peacock blue wili poepoe. This lei is made in the traditional style of the lei wili poepoe, but made with blue peacock feathers.
This lei hulu is 24" in length. The length of 24" on
this lei hulu makes it more versatile. As you can see by
the picture, the lei can be worn on a hat, as a haku lei on
the head and on the neck. As a neck lei, the lei falls
just at the bust line.
Shown here is an India Peacock blue wili poepoe. This lei is made in the traditional style of the lei wili poepoe, but made with blue peacock feathers with highlights of Blue & Gold Macaw feathers. This lei hulu is 24" in length.
